It's been months..

I am trying my best to dust off the has been way too long, honestly any "free" time I do have it used up with working OT and taking care of things for P while he's in bed.
I figured, the best way to start the blog back up, is to use for accountability. After I had P, I was the heaviest I've ever been. I started back on Weight Watchers, and did great, got to where I was pre-pregnancies (before the two losses). Well, I fell off the wagon, big time. I'm almost back up to where I was right after having P. I decided I NEED to do something...I've been seeing some of my friends post about the 21 day fix, so I'm going to try it out...Today is day 1! Granted, I have a mini vacation coming up on Thursday-Sunday, so this may not be the best time to start it...but I keep putting it off, and I have to stop that. So 30 minutes of excerise a day, and the 21 day fix portion control,. here goes nothing. I'll update with what I lost, weight and inches wise, as I'm not comfortable putting my actual weight out there for the masses to see. Wish me luck!!

A Birthday, Disney and a Review

So much has happened since my last post. Parker has turned one! We celebrated with a huge birthday party, so many people were there, he is one lucky little boy. J and I took Parker to Disney World, we had a blast. Of course, now I'm sick and I think he has an ear infection, but Disney was worth it.

His birthday party was a huge success. Obviously the theme was Mickey Mouse. I didn't get to take pictures of all the decorations, my sister did, but I have no clue where I saved those photos to. I did a lot of DIY, but I also bought a lot of stuff. I may have went slightly overboard on the balloons, seriously, the hall was covered in balloons. I'm so glad Parker wasn't terrified. I made totally used Pinterest, J was getting annoyed with me. The centerpieces were terracotta pots painted red, with white buttons, I used spraypainted foam black for Mickey's head. I named all the food a Disney name, Goofy's Goldfish, Daisy's Desserts, etc. Here's a picture of the birthday boy.

We had his party the weekend before his actual birthday. On his birthday, J and I took him to a local sunflower field. Parker was such a goofball the whole time.
We left for Disney the weekend after his actual birthday. We had fun, he wasn't too sure of the characters. He slept through the fireworks, who does that?? I can't wait to plan our next Disney trip with him.

Now on the the review. I belong on an online site called Influenster. Occasionally they send me things for free to try out and review. This time it was actually for Cali to try out and for me to review. We received Pedigree Stackerz in filet mignon and bacon. They are made from real meat, and can be broken down to smaller sizes for smaller dogs. My smallish dog is a pig, so of course there was no breaking it down for her. She loved them, and would have devoured the whole bag if I let her. Parker loves feeding his big sister, so we let him on occasion give her the smaller broken down piece of a Stackerz.

TLCVoxBox from Influenster

I was beyond excited when I found out I qualified for the TLCVoxBox! I love trying things out. I apologize ahead of time, my phone is on the fritz and I can't get the photos off there for this blog post. August 12th can't get here soon enough, I'll be eligible for a new phone then.
Anyway...the VoxBox is a box of items that Influenster wanted me, and many other people to try out and give our opinions. I received some fun stuff in this box. Some I doubt I'll buy, but some I'll definitely buy on my own.
First up, Neosporin Neo To Go. This is definitely something I'll buy. I'm very much accident prone, and I go through medicated ointment a lot. This is handy to take out with me. Since the diaper bag  goes with me everywhere now, I just throw it in there, or knot it onto my Mickey purse, and it's always there when I need it. Just spray and go.
A bar of Ivory Soap...honestly I haven't used bar soap in years. I'm strictly a body wash and loofa kind of girl. But I tried it out, and I wasn't impressed. I'll stick to making something fun out of it, like bath crayons when Parker is old enough.
AVON Anew Reversalist Express Wrinkle Smoother, not something I'll least not for a few years. I'm not really someone with wrinkles. I have laugh lines, but I love those. What I do have is lots of freckles. I'd love to test something out to cover those without looking like my makeup is caked on. I wish Avon would have provided a sponge or something, I hate using my fingers to apply makeup to my face.
Shell Fuel Rewards card...definitely something I'll use. However, I am not brand loyal when it comes to gas. If it's cheapest, I use it. So if this helps make gas prices cheaper, I'll definitely keep using it. There are other features, that I haven't tested out yet, and probably won' linking my grocery card, or linking my credit card so I can earn more reward points, but some people may be interested in that sort of thing.
Puffs to go with Lotion, Soft Pack. I'm super picky about my tissues. I've never really liked lotion tissue, only because it  usually left my nose feeling greasy. Not the case here...and it's perfect for my diaper bag or purse!
And last but not least, Breyers Gelato Indulgences. I purchased the Triple Chocolate, because I'm a huge chocolate lover!!! I'm on Weight Watchers, and have been doing pretty good, so I couldn't eat a whole lot of it. But it was soooo good. I probably won't buy it again, only because I really need to lose weight. But it was good, and J loved it too, he actually finished it off so I wouldn't be tempted.
That's it...if you want to join Influenster, let me know, and I'll happily send you an invite!

Family Issues

I know it's been a long time since I've posted, and I know I promised to be better about posting. But we've had a lot going on in our family over the last two months.
My grandmother has dementia, and it's been getting progressively worse the last year. Early April she fell out of bed, my 83 year old grandfather couldn't get her back in bed, so he call my father who in turned called 911. The paramedics were concerned, they've been called many many times, so they did a quick check, they listened to her lungs which they said didn't sound good. They took her to the emergency room (against her wishes). The ER diagnosed her with pneumonia, apirated pneumonia to be exact. We think, from what we have pieced together, my grandfather can't hear, and my grandmother can't remember, that at some point, probably a day or so prior, she vomited and aspirated some of it.
Honestly, the time she was in the hospital was scary. We weren't sure if she would make it. She kept asking for Parker, but obviously we couldn't bring him to visit her. She was in the hospital for a week and a half, they then transferred her to a short term nursing home for rehabilitaion. She has been in the nursing home for about 6 weeks now, and she has made a huge improvement since she's been in there. She's still weak, and she still has dementia, so it's a struggle working with her at times, but she's relearning how to get herself in and out of bed, a chair, and even up a step (their house is all on one floor, but she needs to walk up one step to get into the house).
She's been doing so well, that she is going to be released tomorrow! We've been spending a lot of our free time visiting with her. It's hard to spend time there, as all the old people want to visit with Parker and that scares him. But my grandmother has loved seeing him. She keeps asking about Cali too, so once she's home and settled in, we'll bring Cali to visit.
Parker is 8 months old today. I have no clue what he weighs, or how long he is. But he's growing so much. His 9 month clothes are starting to get too small, we may have to start transitioning him to 12 month clothes soon. He stands up with our help. He refuses to crawl, but then again so did I, but he scoots along on his butt like a champ. He's fast too. He'll roll over, but just if he wants to, not if we want him to. No teeth yet, although it feels like he's been teething forever. I have a feeling he'll get 2 at the same time. I'll leave you with a picture I took on Sunday when he refused to look at the camera.

Six months old

So my little guy is now 6 months old (well six months and 11 days). He's growing up so fast. He had his 6 month well child visit last week. He 17 lbs, 5 oz, 25 1/2 in long (which is so weird, he's such a shorty, and J and I are so tall), and he still has a huge head, which is obvious when we put a onesie on him. He had 4 shots, poor guy, but he was a trooper. He was perfectly fine for the first 2, then started to cry for the last 2, but by the time I picked him up and gave him a kiss, he was fine.
This picture was taken this morning, Go O's!!!
He loves his food, he started him on puffs and while he can't quite figure out how to pick them up himself, he loves when we feed them to him. He's like a little bird opening his mouth wide whenever we hold one near him. We started him on a sippy cup for water, why the heck does that have to be do hard. Bottles were so easy for us, I just want to throw these stupid cups. Luckily daycare is working on them for us, so we offer him one when we put him in his high chair, and the offer it during the day. I hope he figures it out before summer.
He loves apples and pickles. He'll actually hold a apple slice all by himself. The pickle was too slippery, but he was chowing down on it while I was holding it. He's definitely a good eater, I hope he likes vegetables better than I do. I am so picky.

The Optic White VoxBox Review

A few weeks ago, I was chosen to participate in Influenster's Optic White VoxBox.

I spent a few weeks looking at it, and then decided to jump in. I'm so mad that I waited. This system is so much easier, and less time consuming than other teeth whitening systems I've tried. I've used the strips, trays, and pens, each was time consuming, and kind of gross. This takes seconds.

wall wall

As you can see, the whitening pen snaps into the bottom of the toothbrush, so you don't have to worry about losing it. You can use any toothpaste, however, since Influenster provided me with a travel sized tube of the Optic White toothpaste, I just used that. And to add, I have an issue with the taste of some whitening toothpaste. I had no problem with the taste of this brand. You brush your teeth first, pull out the whitening pen. Two clicks for the top teeth, two clicks for the bottom, and you are done. You don't have to wait till he whitener dries to put your lips down, no waiting till the strips to their jobs. Just two steps. Then you snap the whitening pen back into the toothbrush.

I've used it for a few days now, and I have noticed a difference. The claim is whiter teeth in two days, and I do see a difference. I'm a huge coffee and tea drinker, so my teeth are always stained. So far this is doing the trick, I think when I run out (or in three months, which is Colgate's recommendation for changing it out), I'll buy it.

So, I suck at taking selfies. I have acne, so I hate my chin to show, so it's kind of weird to just have teeth in the photo. I do recommend to clean as much of the whitening gel off the pen as possible, otherwise it dries up. It doesn't change the quality of the product, just is annoying to have dried gel when I go to use it. I'm not sure if it's recommended for those with teeth sensitivity, or any dental work done, so it's always best to look into those issues yourself.

Weight Watchers and Working Out

I thoroughly enjoyed my pregnancy, and by enjoyed, I mean I ate everything. I gained quite a bit of weight, honestly I don't know an exact figure, because I wouldn't let the doctor's office tell me my weight. They just wrote in my chart and went on their merry way. My OB never commented on my weight, so while I know it was probably too much weight, we were all healthy. So now begins the work of getting the weight off. Weight Watcher has always been good for me, I need the accountability of someone weighing me each week. I started three weeks ago, and I am happy to say I've lost 8.2 pounds as of this evening. I still have quite a bit of weight to get off, I have a goal weight in mind, but as long as I lose enough weight to feel comfortable again, I'll be happy. I started exercising again. I do Zumba once a week, and then as of right now I do my own thing the rest of the week. J bought a Total Gym about a year and a half ago, so I have been putting that to use, plus I found a lunge challenge on Pinterest that I've been doing for the past few days, and I've been attempting to plank. So far I can do two 30 second planks before keeling over (of course these are cheaters planks).
